As the temperature gets hotter and hotter, it’s time for Champion AC to remind homeowners that there’s a very simple thing they can do to help their AC running efficiently and effectively – change your air filter!
We recommend homeowners change the filter at least once a month during the summer months. If you can remember to do so, it’s a smart habit to check it every two weeks. If it’s dirty (even if you just changed it a few weeks ago), change it out. When your AC is trying to keep your house cool in 100 degree weather, the filter is really put to the test. There is more air flowing through the filter, meaning there are more particulates it is catching.
In addition, make sure you’re investing in high-quality, pleated air filters (like the ones you see above). Those flimsy, fiberglass filters do little to protect your AC or the air you breath.
